A wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. Just like you, I wear a lot of hats and have a lot of titles. But the one that I cherish above the others is that I am a redeemed Child of God. Raised in church from even before my first memory, I have loved Jesus from the minute I first heard His Name sitting in tiny chairs in a little Sunday School class. But it wasn’t until I knelt at an old yellow wood pew in my little church with Mom and Dad by my side that I asked Him to be my Lord and Savior. Suddenly, Jesus became more than a watercolor painting in a Bible story. He became my Redeemer, my Friend, my Strength and my Song. He became my Story. This far down the road, He is still all of those things to me. He has never failed me. Never once.
Stories can stay in the heart of a soul or stories can be told. Life has been quite a journey with many ups and downs, fears and failings. There have also been many joys. Each one has become an important part of my story. And so I hear God calling me to tell it and encourage the weary, strengthen the weak and share my joys and struggles with other sisters in Christ.
I live in Middle Tennessee and have been married 25 years to my best friend. My husband and I have two amazing children – one in college and one in high school. I have served in Women’s Ministry off and on for almost 20 years. I serve in my local church in Student Ministry and, most recently, the Senior Care Ministry.
In my spare time, you will usually find me spending it riding down a country road with my family, windows down and music blaring. That is my happy place!
